During preparations for an evangelistic emphasis in the Seattle area, God placed a burden
for renewal in hearts of worship. What would happen if we pleaded for revival and petitioned
God for an outpouring of His spirit? Maybe then those who don't know Him would be drawn to
His glory simply by the passion of lives that worship Him with full hearts and submitted spirit.
In the fall of 2002, God revealed a vision; a picture of area churches
joined
together for the
sole reason of giving Him honor and glory and praise. This gathering
would bring churches from across the sound together in one place to lift His name and
renew the calling placed on hearts.
The vision itself was birthed from Acts 2 when the early church was forming, growing and
submitting to God. Verse 1 says, "...and they were all together in ONE place." out of the
Acts 2 picture, ONE was born. The canvas revealed area churches,
invited to join
together for an evening of worship, commitment,
repentance, submission, renewal
and transformation.
In a room of worship leaders in fervent prayer and creative
discussion, the vision was articulated:
ONE -- One God, One Voice,
One Obsession.
Since that day, worshipers from around the sound have gathered at four
different events
with the sole purpose of worship. The gatherings are led by area worship
leaders,
vocalists, band members and artists. ONE is committed to facilitating
worship that
magnifies God, not the leaders of worship.
We pray that God will continue to make history through this movement.
